Sam graduated BDS with Commendation from the University of Glasgow and has practised in Glasgow ever since. After eight years in the city’s West End, he became a Partner at Mearns Dental, where his clinical focus is general dentistry along with advanced aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry.
Sam has built his practice around comprehensive treatment planning. Rather than simply “fixing teeth”, he takes a structured, occlusion-led approach to rebuilding smiles — combining aesthetics, function and long-term stability.

He passed the MJDF examination to gain the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties (RCS England) and currently holds Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPSG).
Sam provides comprehensive smile rehabilitation, composite bonding, tooth wear management, clear aligner orthodontics and dental implant treatment — with a particular interest in integrating aligners and implants into fully planned restorative cases.
He is a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD).
Alongside clinical practice, Sam works as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Glasgow, supervising undergraduate dental students and delivering seminars to newly qualified dentists within their Vocational Training programme.
Outside dentistry, he enjoys golf, skiing, tennis, playing piano and spending time with his family.
